An amazing Job opportunity has just opened for a committed RMN or RNLD to work with one of UK's Leading Healthcare Providers. We are looking for a passionate and caring individual with a proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team within a highly reputable service based in York.
About the service
The specialist hospital in York runs a therapeutic programme, to help patients to develop coping strategies, increase skills and resilience and enable patients to access the community to maximise their recovery potential.
Programmes that support patients with mental health and/or personality disorders are focused towards those who:
Require self-harm reduction
Need support with violent behaviour
Present with offence-specific behaviours
Therapeutic sessions include:
Cognitive analytic therapy (CAT)
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT)
Offence-specific cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
Substance misuse awareness and treatment programme
Mental health promotion programme
Managing anger programme
Mindfulness
As a nurse, your duties will include:
To provide high profile leadership on a shift basis
To promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of all patients, employees and visitors
To ensure that all standards of patient care are maintained at all times within the parameters of operational policies and governing legislation
To promote a supportive culture based on open and honest communication and reflective practice
To accept primary nurse responsibility for an allocated caseload of patients
To accept CPA responsibility for an allocated caseload of patients
To plan and implement nursing care of individual patients paying particular attention to areas of nursing risk management
To act as identified leader of the nursing shift, accepting responsibility for all nursing operations whilst on duty
To ensure nursing practice remains within the parameters of the clinical strategy
About you
In order to be applicable for the Registered Nurses role you will need to be a hard working and confident individual.
You must have the following skills and knowledge as they are beneficial for this role:
Able to communicate effectively and to develop professional relationships
The ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions or improvements
Respectful of the values, views and needs of other
People Management experience
Experience of participating in quality and clinical governance programmes
Able to show a can-do attitude always
Skills and Experience
 Up-to-date knowledge of the assessment and treatment of people with mental illness, personality disorder or learning disability who present with challenging behaviours
 Good understanding of the CPA process
 Basic man-management skills
 An understanding of nursing risk assessment
 Understanding of the NMC code
 Ability to reflect on practice and cascade this approach via role modelling
 Ability to delegate tasks and to ensure objectives are achieved
 To have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in this or a similar assessment and treatment environment
The Registered Nurses position is full time for 37.5 hours per week and the successful nurse will receive an excellent annual salary of between £25,304.00 - £34,169.00 PA plus generous benefits in return of all their hard work and commitment. Benefits include:
